have provided new gameplay footage and information about The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The developers have also set a release date for their work next year.
We learned about the existence of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum in early 2019. Daedalic Entertainment is responsible for developing a title based on the events presented in Tolkien’s writings. Today, the developers unveiled a new trailer for the game, in which producer Harald Riegler provided additional gameplay details, illustrated with some in-game footage. We also learned that the game will be released in the fall of 2022 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
We add that the game was originally supposed to appear in stores over the next few months, but in January the developers were forced to postpone the release.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure game with stealth elements. We play as Sméagol / Gollum, who wanders around Middle-earth alone, from the desert of Mordor to the forests of the elves and the mines of Moria. The plot will intersect with important events from the history of Tolkien’s fantasy world, so during the campaign we will meet many famous characters such as Gandalf, as well as some characters only vaguely mentioned in the books.
During the game, we will climb and sneak, most of the time trying to stay in the shadows. However, if the opportunity presents itself, Gollum will not hesitate to launch a surprise attack using all the dirty tricks described in the book. The game also features tons of platform challenges as the developers took inspiration from many other parkour games. During the game, we have to make various decisions that affect the course of the adventure. The split personality of the protagonist will depend on our actions.
